Get to Know Your President: Rich Nigro

Rich Nigro has dedicated 27 years to Buffalo Public Schools and the last three years to serving as President of the Buffalo Teachers Federation. Throughout his career, he has served in numerous union leadership roles including Delegate Chair, Delegate, Executive Committee member, Building Committee member, and Teacher Center Policy Board member.

As BTF President, Rich has focused on strengthening the union through increased member engagement, expanded training opportunities, improved communication, resolving longstanding grievances, and building stronger advocacy for members.

Rich believes strong unions are built through solidarity, communication, and active member involvement. He remains committed to ensuring the Buffalo Teachers Federation continues moving forward together.
