        BTF TO PRESS LAWMAKERS FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING

A BTF delegation led by BTF President Phil Rumore will meet with the WNY Delegation in Albany and join with the NYSUT Committee of 100 on Funding to lobby for implementation of the new funding for poor school districts.

The meeting with BTF and WNY Delegation will be at 12:30 pm today in Assemblyman Robin Schimminger’s conference room.

The BTF will:

• Support the increase in education funding for poor school districts.
• Point out that New York State is the worst in the nation in the disparity in funding spent on poor students vs. that spent on affluent students.
• Point out that Buffalo lags far behind Albany, Rochester, and Yonkers in funding.
• Oppose the creation of more charter schools in Buffalo.
